Taylor
Schettler
In the second grade Taylor's father took her to one of George W. Bush's presidential campaign rallies and from that moment Taylor knew that her country and politics was her life's passion. During the 2008 presidential campaign Taylor's love for politics grew into a burning passion as she began doing volunteer work for the McCain-Palin campaign. This election was close to her heart as she was almost the first person in line for every McCain-Palin rally that was in Colorado. She was the very first person in line for John McCain's townhall meeting in Denver. And again, she was the first one in line for Sarah Palin's book signing in Denver...in fact she even made the evening news for being so politically involved at such a young age.

During her junior year in high school Taylor began volunteering for the 'Scott McInnis for Governor' campaign. After a few months of volunteering, Taylor was asked to become an intern on the campaign.
A cold day on the McInnis campaign.
When the McInnis campaign ended in August of 2010, her supervisor, Jeff Small, brought her onto the 'Ken Buck for US Senate' campaign. In a letter of recommendation for Taylor, Jeff Small wrote "Although she was the youngest member of both campaigns, she out performed all other interns and even a few people who were on the payroll. Taylor didn’t mind doing the tough and/or tedious jobs and excelled at them. Whether it was waking up at 6am for events or making hundreds of calls a day she had an energy that was contagious and personality that helped engage voters and volunteers that she was contacting. No task was beneath her and she would do whatever it took to get the job done." Along with interning, Taylor volunteered on the 'Ryan Frazier for Congress' and 'Ryan Frazier for Mayor' campaigns.

When Taylor moved to Lawrence, KS for college in the summer of 2011, she wasted no time when it came to getting involved in the political community. As soon as school started Taylor joined the college republicans group. The first semester of her freshman year, Taylor was chosen to intern for Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins in her district office. When Congresswoman Jenkins ran for reelection in 2012, Taylor was personally asked to come back and intern on her campaign.
